Our Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary is the heart of our home! With the warmth of our congregation and God, modern features, and an epic audio visual system, our new Sanctuary has become a hub for worship and gathering, prayer and song, as well as a safe space for family services such as baptisms, weddings, memorials, conferences and events. The space can hold 150 people seated, with an overflow space for 50 more!

Labyrinth Hall

Another of our treasured spaces in our new Como Lake United Church is our Labyrinth Hall. Our Labyrinth is a quiet place to center oneself, pray, meditate, or to engage in peaceful contemplation. It certainly reflects the journey that the Como Lake United Congregation has taken from discernment to re-gathering in our new space in 2022. Enjoy the quiet solitude, or rent it for a reception, family event, or program. Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful patio in the warm months!

The Atrium

As you enter Como Lake United Church from the Marmont Street door, you are welcomed by three of our glulam arched panels from the old building.

The stained glass panels in our entry and in our lounge area are pieced together from the glass in our old building, carefully and lovingly, recreated into mosaics by Evelyn Burch owner of Pacific Glass Works.

With elegant overhanging lighting and wood panel accents, our Atrium has become a staple common space during events, playing host to some of our ministry groups and has also become a beautiful backdrop for buffet table setting and general congregating.

Sanctuary Overflow or
Gathering Place

What is known as the Overflow Space for our Sanctuary during larger events, has actually become quite a Gathering Place, that hosts Tea Tuesdays at 10:30 am, various meetings in our Garden Square, and has already entertained a long-table dinner or two.

The Overflow has its own sound system, and a removable wall for privacy during multi-event functions.

Meeting Room

Our meeting room, with a garden view, holds 10 people, and is a great space for collaborating, business meetings, presentations, or one on one client meets. We have a state of the art setup for Powerpoints or having Zoom or Teams meetings!

Reflection Room

Although our Reflection Room is not available to be rented, it is available during Celebrations of Life, Weddings, and for quiet prayer and reflection during the week. Feel free to drop by during office hours for a tranquil place to reflect, pray, read, meditate, study, contemplate or engage in other spiritual practices like using our finger labyrinths or listening to soft music.

Other Areas in our Church

Whether you are hosting a business conference, a reception or a small tea, your guests will delight in the modern finishes and character elements of our space. Your guests will love our small meeting lounge seated under an artistic rendering of our stained glass from the old Como Lake building. We have all the supplies you would need, including kitchen supplies, and chairs and tables. There is plenty of guest parking around the building and in the underground off the lane. Our washrooms are spacious and clean, always stocked and ready to go!
